Sept. 27, 2017 – Collain Healthcare announced today that its Electronic Health Records (EHR) Solution is Surescripts certified for electronic prescribing in long-term care settings.
The certification process validates that the software is able to send and receive electronic messages in accordance with industry standards and that it is providing open choice for medication selection and dispensing location.
The Collain Healthcare solution enables real data exchange between its EHR and Surescripts. “This adds to our offering of meaningful and actionable data exchange beyond just our EHR, but also our interoperability, population health management and virtual care solutions,” said Robert Choi, chief strategy officer of Collain Healthcare.
Using EHR software certified for e-prescribing through the Surescripts network enables providers to reduce costs, enhance patient safety and improve caregiver efficiency. By collecting data semantically, Collain unlocks a world of data analytics, risk understanding and care management opportunities that no other LTPAC EHR vendor offers its users.
“Many LTPAC organizations have had difficulty with data transformation and extraction from legacy vendors. Robust data exchange should never be a wish – it is a necessity. A healthcare technology strategy that utilizes data-driven, risk-informed care is vital for LTPAC organizations to position themselves with durable competitive differentiation in an age of narrowing networks and value-based care,” Choi said.
The interoperability solution contains features that help organizations meet Meaningful Use requirements, increase revenue opportunities, improve workflow efficiency and, most importantly, patient outcomes.
